Dear
Diary,
Well, dear diary, here I am. Dusting off your pages. Sorry to have
left you in the dark so long! I have decided to revisit Twin Peaks
to try and capture every wonderful detail for you. I'm going to
start off by going over the relationships in Twin Peaks before the
town knew of Laura's death.
I'll start with the Palmers. For them, life was as usual. Leland
going to work for Ben Horne; Laura going to school and hanging out
with her friends, dating Bobby Briggs, seeing James Hurley on the
side and screwing half of Twin Peaks; Sarah, well, was Sarah. Chain
smoking and being nervous. I'll remind you that this is before the
whole town's nasty secrets cam out.
The Hornes: Ben, Sylvia, Audrey, Johnny, and Jerry. Perhaps one
of the most shallow families in Twin Peaks, if not the most.
Ben was wheeling and dealing with the Scandinavians, Sylvia was,
hmm, just being herself, I suppose. Audrey was being the highschool
bad girl/snob. Johnny was having emotional problems that ran in
his family. Jerry was eating somewhere.
At the Briggs house, the Major and Betty were enjoying a nice, quiet
morning together. The only interruption being a strange phone call
from Sarah Palmer looking for her Laura.
Doc. Hayward was called into investigate a 'floater.' Donna was
most likely getting ready for school. Eileen no doubt breaking up
fights between her daughters for bathroom usage.
Everything was quiet at the Sherriff station. Harry enjoying a cup
of black coffee. Lucy, on the phone.
The Martells were ignoring eachother as usual. Pete off to a day
of fishing, Catherine reading a big city newspaper. Probably Seattles.
Josie Packard spent the morning applying 30 layers of lipstick.
Off to her day of pulling plugs and pissing Catherine off.
The Hurley's were struggling through yet another day of insanity.
Nadine, busy making 'completely noiseless drape runners.' Ed, escaping
to his 'Gas Farm.' James, being the outcast at Twin Peaks High School.
The morning Breakfast and coffee regulars were at the diner. Shelley
Johnson being 'secretly' visited by her lover, Bobby Briggs. Norma
Jennings, owner, teasing this 'secret lover.' Everyone else teasing
the German? babe.
Shelley's husband, Leo Johnson, was on the road in his truck making
the rounds.
That's about all we know about so far. Well, except that the log
lady carried her log and Ronette was crossing her bridge. Diary,
tomorrow I will talk about the beginning of the investigation.
