This is part two of my revisiting TP. I want to tell you about the few moments after Laura's death was revealed. In my opinion, these are key points of the show. It seems it all starts when Harry breaks news to Leland. He is at first speechless. Sarah already knows.
...She has that telepathy thing, you know....
Their reactions are so powerful. Leland just gets this look on his face like he'd just been stabbed. Sarah's face crumbles as she starts howling. Ben starts whining at Leland about how the contracts need to be signed. He sees Leland crying and gets this look on his face like he's never seen emotion before. Then Leland says Laura's been murdered. Ben gets this look like, Oh shit, what now? I really love this shot they take of a black telephone cord. It is so drawn out. It is after Sarah has dropped the phone, and it's really amazing. Laura Palmers theme is playing in the background... it's just a moment I want to keep with me always. I feel like that moment deserves a day of it's own to immortilize. So tomorrow I'm going to tell you about the events at the high school. Thank you, dear diary for always listening.
